Terms of Service

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are provided in English only.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Orvoca, including the web console, Chrome extension, mobile app, APIs, email, notifications, and related services. By creating an account, you accept these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. A paid subscription requires separate acceptance of the purchase conditions before store confirmation. Optional analytics, advertising and marketing choices are separate.

If you use Orvoca on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that person or organization.

2. Service description

Orvoca helps users capture words and phrases from reading, review them in context, and sync vocabulary records across supported surfaces. The current Service includes a web console, Chrome extension, mobile app surfaces, and associated APIs. Some features may be experimental, limited, or unavailable on certain platforms.

Basic capture, Inbox, word-first Review, and Memory Orbit remain available on Free. Free includes 10 word analyses per account per Korean calendar day, with optional rewarded ads adding up to 10 more. Where offered, Pro includes 100 analyses per account per Korean calendar day across supported platforms, with no rollover and no rewarded ads; meaning-first and mixed review modes; and selecting several words from a shared or copied sentence in supported mobile apps. Availability depends on app version and platform; the purchase screen describes the current offer.

3. Accounts and security

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You must not share your account, sell access, or use another user's account.
  • You must promptly notify Orvoca if you believe your account or device has been compromised.

4. User content and license

You retain ownership of words, phrases, notes, context, settings, and other content you submit or capture through the Service. You grant Orvoca a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, process, transmit, display, and technically transform that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your captured content does not violate law, third party rights, confidentiality obligations, or platform rules.

5. Extension and capture rules

  • The Chrome extension works only on sites for which you grant host permission.
  • You must not use capture features to collect passwords, payment information, personal identification numbers, confidential business information, or content you are not allowed to process.
  • Orvoca may filter, reject, or limit captures to protect privacy, security, reliability, and service integrity.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive purposes.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or bypass the Service or APIs.
  • Interfere with security controls, rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
  • Upload malware, spam, deceptive content, or content that violates another person's rights.
  • Use automated tools except through interfaces expressly provided by Orvoca.

7. Rewarded ads

The mobile app may offer optional rewarded video ads that add word-analysis capacity for your account. Watching an ad is always initiated by you and only adds capacity. Ads are served by Google AdMob and are subject to the consent choices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services and content

Orvoca uses third-party services for authentication, infrastructure, email, notifications, error monitoring, dictionary lookup, and translation. Third-party dictionary definitions, translations, examples, and platform services may be incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Orvoca does not guarantee third-party content or services.

9. Privacy and communications

Personal information is processed under the Privacy Policy. Transactional notices may be sent where necessary for account, security, verification, password reset, service, or legal reasons. Marketing email or marketing push notifications are sent only where you have opted in or where applicable law allows them, and you may opt out at any time.

10. Service changes, suspension, and termination

Orvoca may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service for maintenance, security, legal, operational, or product reasons. Where practical, Orvoca will provide prior notice for material changes that adversely affect users.

Orvoca may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create legal risk, abuse the Service, or threaten security or reliability. You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time.

11. Account deletion and data export

You may delete your account from the Service settings or request deletion by contacting Orvoca. Account deletion is permanent and removes associated live Orvoca records, subject to records that must be retained by law. A specific ongoing dispute or legally justified security hold is limited to necessary records and its documented duration. Records retained by law are kept in separate, access-controlled storage and destroyed when the applicable period ends. Retention details are listed in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel it separately through the store before deleting the account. Account deletion does not waive refund or other statutory rights.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. Orvoca does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent data retention, learning outcomes, translation accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Orvoca is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability caused by intent or gross negligence where such exclusion is not permitted.

14. Changes to these Terms

Orvoca may update these Terms as the Service, law, or operations change. Material changes will be announced through the website, Service, or email where appropriate. If a change materially disadvantages you, Orvoca will provide a reasonable notice period and a way to reject the change where required by law. Where fresh consent is required, continued use is not a substitute for that consent. New paid purchases require acceptance of the then-current purchase terms. An existing purchase acknowledgement does not authorize a later price increase or a different contract.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court under Korean civil procedure, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

16. Business information

Service name: Orvoca. Service operator (business name): 티엠세오. Representative: 서예은. Service and purchase support contact:

18. Pro subscriptions and free trials

When available, Pro is an automatically renewing monthly or annual subscription purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play. The selected store displays the final localized price, currency, taxes where applicable, billing period, payment method and first charge or trial conversion date before you confirm. Payment is charged to that store account. Access begins after the store transaction and server verification. A pending verification should be retried or restored; do not purchase again to resolve a pending transaction.

Eligible new subscribers may receive one store-provided seven-day introductory free trial. Eligibility and the exact end date are determined by the store. The price during the trial is zero; at its end the selected monthly or annual price applies and renews each period unless canceled. If the store does not offer the trial, the purchase is paid immediately. A trial or subscription is linked to the original Orvoca account and store account. Use Restore Purchases with those accounts; purchases are not transferred to a different Orvoca account merely by signing into it.

To avoid the first trial charge on Apple, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Orvoca. On Google Play, cancel before the trial ends in Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Orvoca. The store-confirmed cancellation screen controls the exact end of access. Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not by itself refund charges already made. You can also open subscription management from Orvoca’s Pro settings. Removing the app or account does not cancel billing.

A minor must obtain the legal representative’s consent to a paid contract. Under applicable Korean law, a contract made without that consent may be canceled by the minor or legal representative. The signup minimum-age confirmation is not proof of adulthood or guardian consent. Contact support for such a cancellation; mandatory local rights remain applicable.

19. Withdrawal, refunds and purchase support

You retain all mandatory consumer rights. Under Korean law, withdrawal is generally available within seven days from receiving the contract information or the start of supply where supply occurs later. A digital-content exception applies only where its statutory conditions, including the required notice and opportunity to assess the content, are met. Accepting automatic renewal alone does not waive withdrawal rights. For divisible content, an unsupplied portion may remain eligible. If the service differs from its description or the contract is not performed, separate statutory remedies and deadlines apply.

For Apple purchases, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s order and refund support. You may also contact tmseo4800@gmail.com for purchase errors, duplicate charges, withdrawal, non-delivery or disputes. Provide the store, product, purchase date and transaction reference; do not send payment-card details or passwords. Store procedures do not remove Orvoca’s obligations under applicable law. We will assess the request and provide the applicable remedy or a reasoned response within statutory deadlines.

Cancellation, expiry, refund and account deletion are distinct. Access after a refund or revocation follows the verified store status. If Orvoca discontinues a paid service or fails to supply it, remedies for the unused service remain available under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms imposes a blanket no-refund rule or limits mandatory rights in your country of residence.
